COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN (CAD) EXPERIENCE
Sillman Wright Architects currently utilizes AutoCAD Release 2002 and AutoCAD LT and all projects are produced using CADD. The firm utilizes nation-wide CADD standards and formatting. The technology not only serves for production of drawings, but also 3D programs for prospective views and photo software to combine CADD drawings with pictures for modeling. Furthermore, the firm’s strong project management utilizes software for scheduling, reporting, estimating and communication.
DESIGN OF DATA & COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
Sillman Wright Architects has performed many projects in recent years involving low voltage data/communication systems. Sillman Wright Architects believes the best way to insure a thorough and competent system installation is to have a defined program for levels of service and allowances for change and upgrade. This industry is ever expanding; however a good backbone of infrastructure will allow the Contractor flexibility as hardware changes.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Quality Assurance is the ability of an architect to provide the client with a set of documents that satisfies the clients’ needs and is as perfect as possible. 100% perfection is rarely achieved, but it should be everyone’s constant goal. RELIABILITY & CONTINUITY
At Sillman Wright Architects we pride ourselves on proactive services with our clients. Our history has shown that communication and fast actions serve ourselves as well as our clients best. We also maintain our project staff from start of design to occupancy and have several key personnel involved in a project to maintain continuity of any given project.
Sillman Wright Architects has always maintained high quality and creative designs which have resulted in repeat business. Sillman Wright Architects’ principal involvement and staff continuity from start to finish has been a hallmark of our success.
PLANNING & PLAN REVIEW
We begin with a review of existing documentation of projects relative to the Client’s needs, take this relevant information and review the elements of a program with the Client to come up with a finite program that better defines the elements of the designed facility. During this programming period, we would involve the neighborhood and community as to better understand their expectations of the project and review any solutions with them for concurrence and support. Also, we would encourage field trips to existing facilities that the “team” feels best exemplifies the requirements the Client is trying to achieve in the final project. Once this effort has been completed and is agreed upon by all parties, the formal architectural design services could begin, and those services would be divided into five categories:
- Schematics
- Design Development
- Construction Documentation
- Construction Bidding
- Construction Administration
Sillman Wright Architects most notable project reflecting the above is the La Jolla High School Science and Computer complex addition and Aquatics Center. Because the existing site was built up and very little room was left for expansion, Sillman Wright Architects created a design that met the school’s goals for site utilization, aesthetics and cost control.
SUSTAINABLE DESIGN
Sillman Wright Architects has a strong background in sustainable design that recycles building materials, is low maintenance, and uses low energy consumption. For over 25 years, Sillman Wright Architects has used methods and materials that promote efficient use of material energy and ongoing maintenance. Our in house LEED Accredited Professional will review all designs/plans to ensure we achieve the highest rating possible within your budget.
